Just Us Girls #391 - Wild Card Week

It's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Judy has chosen to do Paper Piecing.  I had forgotten how much fun paper piecing is!

It's our last week with our Guest Designer, Laurie Unger and I would like to thank her for joining us this past month and sharing all of her amazing creations!  Now come on over to JUGS to see what Laurie and the rest of the talented Design Team have chosen to paper piece.

I just love this spunky lady from Art Impressions!  She was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then paper pieced her pants, top and sun umbrella.  The rest was colored with Prismacolor markers and gel pens for her shoes and earring..  The sentiment is from Altenew.

Come play along with us and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #390 - Photo Week

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Chris has chosen a photo that has endless possibilities for inspiration.

We have Laurie Unger, our April Guest Designer with us again this week.   Come see how this photo inspired Laurie and the rest of the JUGS Design Team.

I was inspired by the patterned rug, red table and the flowers in the vase.  The stamps are from Gina K.  Stamped the vase on yellow cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed with white ep and then cut it out.  Stamped and colored the flowers with Prismacolor markers and added  gel pen dots for the flower centers.  Sponged some Distress Ink with more concentration of the bottom of the panel. Added a strip of washi tape on top of the yellow lattice die cut background.

How does this photo inspire you?  If you play along with us, you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would then make you eligible for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls #388 - Trend Week

It's my turn to bring you the Trend Week Challenge at Just Us Girls.  There are so many companies out there with multi-step stamps that help you create a realistic image and my challenge to you is to use any multi-layered stamp(s).

Laurie Unger is with us again this week as our April Guest Designer!  Check out the JUGS Blog to see what Laurie and the rest of the Design Team have created using multi-step stamps.

I used the Peony Bouquet from Altenew.  Stamped the flowers in 3 shades of pinks and the leaves in 2 shades of green.  I used a water pen to soften the edges a little since my stamping was a little off.   Added a light watercolor wash of light green on the background.   Added the Label sentiment, also from Altenew and a strip of washi tape down the side.

Now it's your turn to come play in our Trend Challenge!  You could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week, which would put you in the running for a chance to become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.

Just Us Girls # 387 - Word Week

Nancy is our hostess this week at Just Us Girls for our Word Challenge and she has chosen the Word - Sea.

I would like to welcome our Guest Designer for the month of April - Laurie Unger!  Come on over the the  JUGS Challenge Blog to see what Laurie and the rest of the Design Team have created for our Word Week Challenge.

Started out by masking and sponging the background for the sand, sea and sky using Distress Inks.  Stamped the shells from the Gina K set - Gifts From the Sea, which I thought was pretty appropriate for this challenge.  Cut out the shells and scattered on the beach.  Stamped the little sailboat on the horizon and added the sentiment.

I used the sketch from CAS Colour & Sketches Challenge.

Come play along with our Word Challenge and you could be chosen as our next Chic of the Week and that would then put you in the running for a chance become our next Guest Designer!  Please limit your entries to 3.
